Ashford District Explorer Awards 2026

Ashford District Explorer Scouts have been delighted to be able to award over 50 Duke of Edinburgh and Scouting Awards to over 30 of their Scout members at Kennington Scout Hall on Saturday 28 February 2026. The awards included 4 Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards and were presented by Colin Ladley, Lead District Volunteer.

The young people, aged between 14 and 25 have shown huge commitment, determination and effort to complete their awards. They have undertaken community volunteering, not just locally but in other countries. They have all take part in expeditions in locations from the South Downs to the Lake District. They have all taken up new challenges, travelled to new locations , enjoyed physical activities and learnt new skills, and in doing so have grown in self confidence and self-sufficiency. 

The Scout Association, together with the DofE Award programme, gives our members the opportunity to grow and develop into amazing young, people, of whom we are all hugely proud.
