The DofE award scheme is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged 13+ to develop independence, resilience, and gain a qualification that is recognised and respected by employers and universities worldwide.

The Scout Association is the largest DofE provider in the country, and here in Ashford we support dozens of young people to complete their awards every year.

The DofE programme covers four key areas: volunteering in your community, developing physical fitness, learning a new skill (or improving an existing one), and completing a supervised expedition. While you’ll largely work independently on the volunteering, physical, and skills aspects of the award, our main support focuses on facilitating the expedition element – often the most challenging but usually the most rewarding part of the award.

Our experienced leaders provide comprehensive training and guidance ahead of the final expedition, teaching you essential skills such as route planning and navigation. We’ll support you through your practice expeditions and ensure you are fully prepared for your qualifying expedition.
