Ashford Squirrels Spread Christmas Cheer at Kent Squirrels Christmas Trail 2025

Yesterday, 7th Ashford (St Mary’s) Squirrels enjoyed a magical festive adventure at Lower Grange Farm Kent Scouts Barn, where they took part in the Kent Scouts 2025 Squirrel Christmas Trail. Alongside Dreys from across the county, they worked together to help the mischievous elves fix the chaos they had created!

The day began with decorating the Christmas tree while singing “Here We Go Around the Christmas Tree.” Spirits were high as the Squirrels then made their way to the elves’ workshop to help sort letters to Santa. After their hard work, it was time for a short trek to the campfire, where they listened to a heart warming Christmas story, enjoyed a biscuit, and watched in amazement as the magical fire changed colour.

Next came one of the highlights of the day—meeting the Reindeer Ponies! The Squirrels helped collect carrots, feed them, and give them a well-deserved groom. Back in the barn, they created their own reindeer food before diving into an energetic snowball fight, with Sparrow and Squirrel having an especially fantastic time!

The festive fun continued with Christmas crafts and warm hot chocolate, filling the barn with creativity and smiles. Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived: meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Squirrels excitedly shared their adventures, discovered they were safely on the Good List, and each received a special present—a book—and their Christmas Trail badge.

The Squirrels had an absolutely wonderful day and represented 7th Ashford (St Mary’s) and Ashford District with pride, enthusiasm, and brilliant behaviour. We couldn’t be prouder of them all.
