District Recognition Ceremony 2026

9th September 2025

We are delighted to announce that our first District Recognition Ceremony will take place on Saturday 27th June 2026 at St Mary’s Church, Ashford, TN23 1QG.

This special event will celebrate the exceptional achievements of our young people who have earned the highest awards in Scouting, as well as the dedication of our Leaders who have received service badges, merits, and commendations, amongst other honours.

This marks the first event of its kind for our District, and we look forward to recognising these accomplishments together as a Scouting family.

The Event

The ceremony will be held at St Mary’s Church in Ashford town centre, which has space for up to 500 guests. We will be joined by local dignitaries, community representatives, and supporters to honour the hard work and commitment of our young people and Leaders.

In addition to celebrating achievements, the evening will also raise funds in support of those young people selected to attend the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland.

Guidance for Group Leaders

To ensure invitations reach all those eligible, please keep the District team informed when young people achieve these awards.

Badges may continue to be presented locally, as usual. However, we ask that certificates be passed to the District so they can be formally presented by dignitaries during the ceremony.

To include as many young people as possible, eligibility has been extended to anyone who achieves a top award between 1st May 2025 and 31st May 2026.

Further details, including the schedule and timings, will be shared with Leaders and families nearer the date.
