Our Explorer section is completely youth-driven, with young people designing their own programme, setting their own challenges, and pushing their own limits.

Explorer Units meet regularly to plan and participate in adventures they’ve chosen themselves. From expeditions and international trips to extreme sports and survival weekends, the programme is entirely shaped by the young people’s passions.

Explorers develop real leadership skills through our Young Leader programme, while taking responsibility for their own learning and development. With opportunities to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and take part in international camps, Explorers gain experiences that will shape their lives and memories that last a lifetime.

Our leaders act as supporters, stepping back to let Explorers make their own decisions while ensuring safety and guidance where needed. This is where young people develop into confident, capable, independent young adults.
